Pultruded FRP grating is a simple process, uses extrusion molding equipment, it is a very wide range of materials, you can use fibrous, but also can use braided or felt, its components can be glassfiber, but also aramid fiber, carbon fiber or other fiber materials. Pultruded FRP grating is made by using pultruded "I" and "T" shaped profiles as load bearing bars and solid pipes or bars as connecting rods, which are made by certain assembly process with gaps.
Pultruded FRP grating pultrusion process is a mechanized composite molding
process that consists of twist-free glassfiber roving, glassfiber mat and other
reinforcing materials impregnated with resin through a resin bath under the
traction of a pultrusion molding machine, and then heated and shaped by a
molding die to produce FRP profiles.
When pultruded FRP grating is pultruded, the fibers first pass through a
hot forming die of the same size as the FRP product, and then enter a pulling
mechanism. Between the yarn frame and the forming die, there is a glue groove
in which the pre-prepared resin is placed, and the fibers are impregnated with
resin and then arranged by the guiding device, and then enter the forming die.
A circular hole or slit is provided in the guiding device to remove excess
resin adhering to the fibers. The temperature distribution of the forming die
is carefully designed to ensure that the resin has completed the curing process
by the time the pultruded material leaves the rear port of the FRP pultruding
die. An air-cooling section is provided in front of the pulling mechanism and
cutter to cool the higher temperature pultruded products.
Pultrusion FRP grating injection pultrusion process method has the following two advantages: First, the resin component ingredients are more accurate, can use the metering pump continuous metering, in order to avoid the error brought by manual mixing; Second, the resin impregnation tank, from the open form into a fully closed form, greatly reducing the possibility of resin spatter, thus improving the working environment of the pultrusion process.
Advantages of FRP pultruded grating:
I. Corrosion resistance: FRP pultruded
grating has excellent corrosion resistance and can resist the corrosion of many
gas and liquid media such as acid, alkali, organic solvents and salts in
different degrees, because its surface rich resin is lower than that of molded
grating, so its corrosion resistance is slightly worse than molded grating.
According to the actual application requirements, can economically choose to
use ortho type, isophthalic type, vinylester type resin as the base material.
2. Light weight and high strength: FRP
pultruded grating is made of glassfiber, continuous mat, surface veil and other
reinforcing materials by resin infiltration and heating pultruded molding. The
high glass fiber content (more than 60%) makes its one-way specific strength
and specific stiffness quite outstanding.
3. Flame
retardant: the oxygen index of general FRP pultruded grating is above 33, flame
spread rate (according to ASTM E-84 test) <25, which is the first grade of
flame retardant and type approved by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS); the
oxygen index of phenolic pultruded grating (GB8924) reaches 100, flame spread
rate is 5 and smoke density is 10 according to ASTM E-84 test.
4. Impact and fatigue resistance: FRP
pultruded grating has the same high impact strength as molded grating, allowing
repeated bending without permanent deformation; with moderate elasticity,
making it comfortable for personnel working on it for a long time.
5. Anti-slip: FRP
pultruded grating has pre-designed linear anti-slip grooves on the surface, or
additional anti-slip effect can be added by gritted the surface.
6. Ageing
resistance: FRP pultruded grating is made of high quality resin and glass fiber
system to ensure the service life of the products is more than 20 years. After
being exposed to the atmosphere, although the appearance has changed, the
strength can still be retained at more than 85% after twenty years.
7. Beautiful, easy
maintenance: FRP pultruded grating is also made by blending color pigment into
all resin, its color is bright, not easy to fade, no need to paint and has a
self-cleaning effect.
8. Safety: FRP
pultruded grating has the same excellent electrical insulation,
non-electromagnetic and non-sparking as molded grating, which is used in
working areas with conductive hazards, magnetic sensitive equipment and
flammable and explosive places. It has good economic benefits. The production
process of FRP pultruded grating adopts automatic control, and the quality of
products is stable; the process basically does not produce edge waste, and the
effective utilization rate of raw materials is high; high production
efficiency, the labor cost is low; the length of products can be cut
arbitrarily according to needs, and the specifications can be varied, the
cutting waste is low.
